Welcome to Angelic Complementary Therapies February 2024 Newsletter
How is 2024 treating you? And how quickly has the month gone! I don’t know about you, but February seems to have crept up on me very quickly.
The month of February is never one I look forward to. I’ve always found the month harsh and with Mum passing two years ago and subsequently a year later, Derrick, I feel as if I’m peeking out at the month with a degree of trepidation. However, I’m hoping for a more peaceful February this year.
Looking back on January, one of my favourite days was spending the day with my Dad. Just the two of us. It was really lovely and a day I will treasure, always. All we did was venture into Salisbury, have a walk around, do a little shopping and a scrumptious lunch. It’s moment like this that are the biggest treasures in my life. Creating memories with those I care about and love. For example, my 50 things, 50 years… don’t put off what you can do today. Life is for living, now. Not tomorrow, not yesterday, it’s now.
It's been nearly two weeks since my eldest son returned to Uni. It was so special having him home for the festive time, and I’m pretty sure he appreciated not having to do washing, cooking, cleaning etc for a change. I’m not the only one that misses him, Jeffie spends hours in his room now, waiting for him to return. I’m still very much enjoying my art, it’s beginning to feel more natural now.
We are still in the season of winter, and I think of winter as a time to recharge, replenish and look after yourself (although, we should look after ourselves every single day no matter what). I’m often asked who looks after me, as I help many. The answer to that is pretty simple – I know I’m being looked after by those who care and love me, be they in this life or previous, and by the angels, archangels, my guardian angel, my spirit guides and team. But I don’t leave it all down to them, that wouldn’t be me living my life to the full and with purpose. I make sure I look after me too. I ensure I eat well, but also realistically. I practise Pilates pretty much daily and walk when possible (which I love and wonder now why on earth I used to spend hours and hours thrashing out a crazy gym class – lesson learned). I make sure I go to bed at a time that suits me and wake feeling refreshed. My home is welcoming and a place of peace and love, a place I want to live in – it’s not just a house. I also look after my energy with daily reiki and have reflexology. I guess I’m also very lucky that I love what I do. That in itself is looking after me.
The quote I have chosen is very simple, but incredibly powerful. We all have it in us to be happy.
Quote for the moment
“Very little is needed to make a happy life. It is within yourself, in your way of thinking.”

Reflexology Lymphatic Drainage (RLD)
What is RLD?
By working solely on the reflexes correlating to the lymphatic drainage system of the body, RLD is able to bring relief to those suffering with lymphoedema and other life limiting illnesses in a simple non-invasive manner.
The lymphatic system transports the lymph around the body. Lymph is a fluid that contains the infection fighting white blood cells and therefore helps remove waste, toxins and other unwanted objects from the body.
I adore generic reflexology and continue to be amazed by the positive impact it has on many lives and now RLD now has brought a new and incredible dimension – by simply working solely on the lymphatic system the whole body benefits. RLD’s routine is fluid and gentle for the client to receive. To me, I feel it’s almost like a dance across the feet when I’m giving RLD, I find myself mesmerised and getting totally absorbed in giving the treatment.
Will RLD help me?
The potential for RLD seems endless. Although the technique was originally developed to treat lymphoedema of the arm and leg, RLD has been proven through continuous studies and research to be beneficial for:
· Eliminating toxins: By working solely on the Lymphatic System it can efficiently and effectively help remove toxins from the body.
· Reflexology/RLD can help reduce cancer treatment symptoms, including nausea, pain, constipation or diarrhoea.
· Fibromyalgia: a chronic condition of widespread pain and profound fatigue. RLD can reduce the pain and tiredness associated with Fibromyalgia leading to an all over sense of wellbeing.
· Anxiety and depression: Anxiety and depression are the most common mental health problems. The relaxation benefits of RLD can decrease depression and anxiety.
· Migraine and tension headaches: The therapeutic flow of RLD can effectively reduce tension and migraine headaches.
· Sinusitis is a chronic or acute condition often caused by another respiratory infection like the flu, a cold, or bronchitis. RLD can help improve chronic sinusitis.
· Reflexology massage can help improve blood circulation in the feet and throughout the body.
· Research has found that reflexology may be as effective as painkillers for osteoarthritis.

Mindfulness
A week of first steps
Try this each time you step from the inside to the outside.
1. Notice the change in temperature (not tricky at present).
2. Notice the rain, sun, wind on your face.
3. Does the fresh air alter your breathing?
4. Is the place you are intending to visit stir any emotions? Excited, nervous, relaxed…
Try not to be on auto-pilot. Focusing our mind brings us into the present. There may be things you would normally miss, notice everything in the moment.
Crystal/Stone of the month – Apatite
Apatite resonates with the throat chakra. It is a wonderful stone for communication, seeking the truth with free flowing honesty. It is often referred to as the stone of manifestation and awakening of creativity.

Winter – Take care of your needs
Winter is a time for hibernation and retreat, curl up in a ball and allow the winter to pass. Although you may not feel as bright as you’d like, there is a primal force encouraging you to continue.
The wolf stay active all year long. An animal that can work alone or within a pack. Trust your instincts, if you feel this is a time you need to be alone, then do. Take the time to move beyond your insecurities and relax in your own space.
I wonder what this February has in store for each of us? Whatever it brings, may it be fun and peaceful. Maybe think of ways you can have quality time with the people in your life or quality time with yourself. Be present and as I always say, be kind to all, but mostly yourself and I look forward to seeing you soon, with love and light.
