Welcome to Angelic Complementary Therapies December 2022 Newsletter
I do hope you are well and keeping warm (energy prices permitting) now December is here.
Firstly, apologies for not sending this newsletter on the 1st as I normally do, but I’ve been visiting Derrick, (my late mum’s partner) who was found collapsed in his flat and is currently in hospital. It was his 93rd birthday yesterday! He’s a remarkable person - a true, warm and sincere Dorset man with a wonderful sense of humour. He’s very much in my thoughts and prayers at the moment.
Last year I wrote how aware I am that Christmas is a time to be with family and loved ones, but it can also be a time when that feeling of the loss is more evident than usual. This will be the first Christmas without my mum, and do I miss her. I visited her grave yesterday and I could sense her standing next to me. I take great comfort in this, knowing she’s not ‘gone’ but I miss her nonetheless. Derrick told me that mum was with him whilst he couldn’t move his legs as he lay on the floor. He also said she’d visited him in hospital – and I know he’s right. She is with him very much at the moment, bringing him comfort and love.
As some of you know, I turn 50 on Christmas Day! It’s quite a milestone and like all big birthdays it raises the opportunity to evaluate where I am in life, look back at where I’ve come and what I hope to still achieve. I’m currently in the process of creating 50 things I intend to do in my 50th year – some ideas are very simple and low key, others will take more planning. One adventure is already arranged and that is a very good friend of mine is taking me away for a couple of days! Girls on tour! I wonder what else awaits…
Next weekend I’m celebrating my birthday and Christmas with my siblings and family. I’m very much looking forward to eating good food, playing games and singing Christmas tunes, albeit badly, pretty much the whole weekend (thankfully, the house we’re staying in is detached).
What do you have planned for the festive season? It feels like this is the first year since Covid that we’re able to do pretty much what we want. Take a moment to think of the special people in your life. Maybe phone the friend or relative, the one you’ve been meaning to call for too long now but never get around to it. All we have is now. Live, Laugh and Love.
Quote for the moment
“My idea of Christmas, whether old-fashioned or modern, is very simple: loving others. Come to think of it, why do we have to wait for Christmas to do that?”

The Nicest Present
Under the tree the gifts enthral,
But the nicest present of them all
Is filling our thoughts with those who care,
Wanting our Christmas joy to share.
To you, whom we’re often thinking of,
We send our holiday joy and love

Crystal/Stone of the month – Ruby
Ruby is a wonderful red precious stone. It brings good health, balanced energy, wealth and abundance passion and protection. It promotes the will to live, mental health and healing. It’s also a fabulous stone to have, especially at this time of year as it helps with decision making, new beginnings and change.
Gratitude
When you think about Christmas, what are you most grateful for?
I am grateful for my friends and family being in my life. To have two gorgeous sons whom I’m so very proud of. To be able to do a vocation which I love. To have a home, food on the table and sons who love to share it with their friends. The most perfect cat, who looks after all of us and a tortoise who makes me smile. I’m grateful to have had 49 years with my mum who taught me that strength and determination go a long way in life. For Derrick, who made mum’s last 24 years possibly her happiest ever. For my dad, who isn’t in the best of health, but he’s always here for me, and I’m eternally grateful I have the opportunity to spend time with him and my step-mum with a pre-Christmas day. I’m happy I’m here, to share the love I have in my heart with so many.

I wonder what this December has in store for each of us? Whatever it is, may it be fun, peaceful and kind. And I wish for you a very healthy and happy festive time and a bright and joyous New Year. Be present and as I always say, be kind to all, but mostly yourself and I look forward to seeing you soon, with love and light.
