Welcome to Angelic Complementary Therapies April 2025 Newsletter

It’s April, and I really do feel as if spring is springing! How was your March? Mine was lovely.

My youngest turned 18!!!!! How on earth did that happen??? Ozzie is a blessing and a joy in my life, and the world is a better place for him being here. He has high hopes for what he’d like to achieve in this lifetime; I really don’t mind what he does as long as he’s happy, content, and following his dreams.

Another highlight was spending time on the peaceful and beautiful Isle of Wight. My stay began with a magical retreat where I shared time with incredible, funny, and strong women. The retreat was run by the amazing human glitterball, Kate Taylor. I met Kate a couple of years ago, and what an incredible woman she is. If you’ve never read her book – BIG BOLD BEAUTIFUL – I can highly recommend it.

I was then fortunate enough to extend my stay for a couple of extra days to do some exploring on my own. Every morning, I took a mindful walk through the forest near where I stayed. I made sure I was fully present, hearing, seeing, and sensing everything around me. Seeing the tiny saplings beginning to sprout among the fallen leaves on the forest floor is such a welcome and beautiful sight – teeny little buds promising new growth. Three woodpeckers competed with their “hammering” on nearby trees. Without music for days, this was nature’s very own melody; their timing was perfect! I adore nature and perhaps feel happiest in the woods or forest. I even embraced my inner child by swinging on a homemade swing! It was so freeing and fantastic for the soul.

There was also a pair of blue tits nesting outside my Tiny Home. Every day, I’d watch them fly back and forth, collecting moss, twigs, and anything else they needed to make a nest. Sadly, I had to leave before the chicks were born, but I have high hopes that the blue tits will have their little family soon, with lots of little hungry beaks to feed. New life- isn’t it a blessing? The cycle of life seems wondrous.

Tiny Homes on the Isle of Wight is a tranquil, peaceful, and special place. It’s somewhat like going back to basics – no electricity, no Wi-Fi, and barely any mobile signal – I LOVE IT!!!! You truly feel at one with nature. Each day, I lit my log burner, and it was incredibly special going to bed listening to the crackle of the burning logs, casting a soft, warm glow of firelight. There is also a hot tub (heated by wood), and it was truly special lying in the steaming water in the dead of night, with zero light pollution, the only light coming from candles and the moon – how lucky was I to experience this!!!!

And then it was time to return to reality, the here and now. It has been blissful not being aware of any news or what’s happening in the world. The world I have been living in has been simple, pure, and very special. I hope to return again; it’s so good for the soul.

Oh, by the way, I collected Mum's watch from the watch repairer – it’s fabulous to have it working again – I just need to remember to wind it up every day!!!!

Our bodies and how incredible they are, if only we would listen…

Causes of dis-ease and dis-harmony

Have you ever wondered why it is that certain people are always suffering with their backs, or headaches, or digestive disorders or suffer with sore throats, while other people go through life apparently symptom free? What is it that causes dis-harmony or dis-ease in some people and not in others? As our minds and bodies are not separate beings, a connection can be made of all our physical weaknesses to our mental state. Physical symptoms may therefore come about by emotional factors, often anger and/or stress.

You, your family or your friends may identify with some of the following examples:

Head

The head is the control centre for the body. Too much analysing results in headaches or migraines, or a general imbalance in the physical, emotional, mental or spiritual level. It can also mean confusion and unexpressed emotion.

Eyes

Eyes relate to our inner seeing and feeling. The need to be seen by others, or not seeing their needs. Not seeing what is plainly in front of our eyes or what is ahead. The eyes are also connected to the sinus and unshed tears.

Ears

Hearing others, being heard by others or blocking out what we don’t or didn’t want to hear. The ears are also related to high blood pressure, balance and clarity.

Throat

Dis-harmony in the throat by becoming ‘choked-up’ may mean the inability to express with others how we really feel. Difficulty in expressing the truth. Throat blockages or sore throats may be caused by not saying what needs to be said, feeling gagged.

Neck

The neck is the physical link between our intellectual and physical process. A ‘stiff-necked’ view, or the inability to put your neck on the line. A rigidity in thinking. It is also related to the shoulders by carrying burdens and responsibilities.

Shoulders

Burdens of responsibility and the inability to shoulder the burdens. Tension and a difficulty in dealing with or carrying the things we need in life. Feeling that the ‘whole world’ is on our shoulders.

Upper back

Too much giving and receiving. Creating a ‘rod for our back’. Repressed feelings of another’s ingratitude or guilt may cause upper back problems, or just having your back up.

Lower back

Lower back problems may indicate that someone is uncomfortable with life, or the stress of life itself. Just by doing too much can cause problems in this area.

Coccyx

The coccyx is connected to the survival instinct. It can sometimes indicate fear of success in life.

Intestines

Blockages, constipation is unable to let go of past or old feelings. Holding in anger. Diarrhoea or colitis is letting go of the past without dealing with the issues. The intestines can be a storage area for anger or unresolved issues.

Stomach

Being unable to digest aspects from the past, such as old ideas or social conditioning. Ulcers show up as eating away the gut, whilst ‘butterflies in the stomach’ represent anxiety about the future. Fear of change.

Liver

Anger stored over long periods of time and/or long-term insecurity may affect the effectiveness of the liver. If the liver is not detoxifying efficiently this may show up as eczema or psoriasis.

Gall bladder

Anger that has turned to bitterness may result in gall bladder problems.

Pancreas

Losing the sweetness of life. Lack of spark.

Spleen

Unfinished business, especially within relationships.

Adrenals/Kidneys

Shock, trauma, stress and fear all may produce a weakness in this area. An inability to deal with fear or uncertainty in life. An over-stretching of the nervous system.

Ovaries or testicles, uterus

Deep sexual issues such as abuse. Guilt to do with miscarriage or abortion. Anger about sexuality.

Bladder

Stored issues that need to be expressed.

Prostrate

Sexual guilt, anger with women, helplessness with birth or sexual issues and powerlessness.

Hips

The hip’s are the body’s physical support system. Stored problems or anger or fear result in excess of fat making a barrier to the world. Being too vulnerable or unprotected in life results in thinness.

Knees

The body’s shock absorbers. The need for support for emotional or practical issues and the inflexibility in dealing with the hard ground of life.

Ankles

A difficulty in being able to react to rapidly changing circumstances. Lack of understanding or trying to analyse things not relevant to our progression.

Feet

Lack of grounding in life. Unable to take a stand, and to stand up for ourselves. Difficulty in setting standards for oneself.

Mindfulness

A mindful meditation to connect with Spring
A mindful meditation to connect with Spring

As the weather is so beautiful, I felt inclined to write a meditation practice. Now that spring is here, I invite you to connect with the beauty of the season, allowing you to embrace renewal, growth, and fresh beginnings. Ideally, we’d all spend at least a few minutes every day outside.

·      Begin by sitting comfortably in a chair or on the ground, with your feet flat and your spine tall. Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths, allowing your belly to rise and fall with each inhale and exhale. Feel yourself becoming more grounded and present in the moment with every breath.

·      Allow the sounds of spring- whether it's the chirping of birds, a gentle breeze, or the distant hum of life- to become part of your awareness. With each breath, notice how your body responds to the season.

·      Feel the gentle warmth of the spring sun on your skin. Visualise the colours of spring — the bright greens of new leaves, the soft pastels of blooming flowers, and the rich earth tones of the soil coming to life. Picture yourself surrounded by these colours, noticing how the light shifts and how nature begins to pulse with vitality.

·      Spring is a season of renewal, growth, and new beginnings. In this moment, take time to reflect on what you wish to cultivate in your life — both literally and metaphorically. What intentions or goals are you nurturing this season? Which aspects of yourself or your life are prepared to bloom and grow?

·      Think of an area of your life where you would like to experience positive change and breathe into that space. As you inhale, visualise taking in the fresh, rejuvenating energy of spring. As you exhale, release any lingering doubts or fears.

·      Repeat silently to yourself:

I welcome new beginnings.

I am open to growth and transformation.

I trust in the natural unfolding of life.

·      Gradually return your awareness to your body. Feel the seat beneath you or the ground supporting you. Take a few deep breaths and notice how your energy has shifted — feeling lighter, more open, and possibly filled with a sense of hope and possibility.

When you're ready, gently open your eyes, carrying with you the mindfulness of the spring season and your intentions for growth and renewal.

Quote for the moment

Crystal

Mookaite

This month, I feel drawn to introduce the very beautiful Mookaite. Mookaite is a type of jasper found primarily in Western Australia. It is known for its striking colours, ranging from deep reds and yellows to purples and browns. Read the benefits below for how amazing this crystal is.

  1. Grounding and Stability: Mookaite is considered a grounding stone that helps to stabilise emotions and bring balance during chaotic situations. It is often used to connect with the Earth and find inner peace.

  2. Strength and Courage: It is thought to encourage personal strength, courage, and determination. Mookaite is believed to help overcome fears, doubts, and insecurities, making it useful for those seeking to take bold steps in their lives.

  3. Supports Decision-Making: This crystal is said to aid in decision-making by providing clarity and helping individuals trust their intuition. It can be beneficial for those who are feeling uncertain or torn between choices.

  4. Energy and Vitality: Mookaite is believed to enhance physical energy and vitality, helping to improve overall well-being. It is often associated with stimulating the body's natural healing abilities.

  5. Helps with Ageing: (and I never knew this!!!) Some people believe that Mookaite has anti-aging properties. It is thought to support the body's regenerative processes and slow the effects of ageing, promoting health and longevity.

  6. Emotional Healing: Mookaite is said to support emotional healing by releasing old emotional blockages and traumas. It is thought to help with processing grief, fear, and anxiety, bringing a sense of emotional balance and calm.

  7. Enhancing Spiritual Awareness: As a stone that promotes deep connection to the Earth, Mookaite is also used for spiritual grounding and connecting with nature's energies. It is believed to help individuals open up to spiritual growth and awareness.

  8. Boosts Creativity: Mookaite is also associated with stimulating creativity and problem-solving abilities. It may encourage new ideas and help break through creative blocks.

Anti-ageing! I had no idea.

Angel Card

Moon – Take Note of Intuitive Messages

Angels and Ancestors Oracle Cards, Kyle Gray

Use your intuition. Practice discernment. See through illusions and blockages.

The moon is strongly associated with the divine feminine and the energy of receiving. If the sun is God, the moon is Goddess, and so she offers a powerful energy of polarity and balance. She has a cyclic energy and is therefore strongly connected to emotions, which often come and go in waves, and to somewhat interesting behaviour, so when the Moon appears in a reading, you are often being told that not everything is as it seems. The Moon has a dark side (just dark, not negative) and can show you what you’ve been kept in the dark about.

I wonder what this April has in store for each of us. Whatever it brings, may it be fun and peaceful. Maybe think of ways you can have quality time with the people in your life or quality time with yourself. Be present and, as I always say, be kind to all, but mostly yourself. I look forward to seeing you soon, with love and light.
